With the introduction of General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) in May 2018 it soon became apparent that the new rules would have a profound impact on businesses right across the EU in the ways in which they collect, store, manage and protect data.
Essentially GDPR builds on the existing principles of the Data Protection Act 1998 but has been updated to reflect the increase in data usage as new technologies continue to develop. Failure to comply with GDPR could result in stiff fines on data controllers and processors.
With such profound and challenging changes in EU legislation imminent, we recognised that the same challenges and changes that PD Financial Management would experience would also affect our corporate clients and professional connections too.
PD Financial Management were proud, in association with Higgs and Sons Solicitors, to create an opportunity that could provide an overview of GDPR and an understanding of the changes GDPR would bring to our corporate clients and professional connections in their own businesses.
To an audience of 86 attendees from businesses across the region, an informative and interactive seminar was delivered by a team of Legal professionals from Higgs and Sons and supported by specialist data security provider i-Secured. The venue, hospitality and breakfast were provided by the catering team at Higgs and Sons and enjoyed by all.
Overall the seminar was a great success and well received by the attendees, the majority of which endorsed the quality of the speakers and found the content relevant and well presented.
