After a hugely successful inaugural event last year, this year’s Copa Del Cure Leukaemia certainly stepped up to the mark! A day thoroughly enjoyed by all with some fierce competition, whilst raising funds and awareness for Cure Leukaemia.
Football legends, along with companies and clients associated with Cure Leukaemia, assembled for the six-a-side tournament on Tuesday 22nd October, held at St George’s Park. This year’s event had a Champions League theme as once the tournament ended, guests were invited to watch the two Champions League fixtures in the company of the legends during the evening.
Former players included Matt Le Tissier, Kevin Phillips, Peter Odemwingie, Stephen Hunt and Ian Taylor. The Luddites took the glory, winning the tournament.
PD Financial Management’s team was made up of Nick Ace, Matthew Egginton, Luke Powell, Richard Griffiths, Jamie Partington, Richard Strain, Stuart Grosvenor and Jack Dunne and expertly managed by Mark Beddowes-Klopp. Unfortunately we just failed to make it out of the group but did make it to the bar first!. There were certainly some sore legs the day after, but it was all worth it for a fantastic day and most importantly to help raise funds and awareness for this vital charity.
